Online & In-person Therapy Consultancy

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. You might wonder:

  • “I’ve never done therapy—where do I begin?”
  • “I’ve seen several therapists but haven’t made the progress I hoped for. Is it normal to feel judged, unsafe, or even re-traumatised?”
  • “I’ve tried everything—breath-work, CBT, meds—but I keep asking: how do I truly heal?”
  • “No one knows this, but sometimes I just want to give up.”

If any of these thoughts resonate, know that you’re not alone.

Therapy can be challenging, but carrying the weight of untold stories, shame, and pain can be even harder.

So, what should you expect from Therapy?

Your experience in therapy depends on your unique journey—your emotional skills, personal growth, safety, triggers, past trauma, and learning style all play a part. Our approach is clear and personalized:

Our therapeutic approach to therapy:

We aim to create a safe space where you can express yourself freely, without judgment. Therapy with us is not about checklists; it’s about helping you grow, develop your emotional skills, and enhance your reflective capacity in a way that suits your lifestyle, relationships, and dreams.

Our Therapeutic Approach to Therapy

Connection & Emotional Safety

Initially, we will invest time in building a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship. This is the time when we get to know you and the time to sit with yourself within a secure base.

Skill development

Once we know each other, we focus on expanding your therapeutic tools, including:

  • Psycho-ed on trauma/attachment,
  • Increased ability to (co) self-regulate and self-soothe,
  • Grieving skills –being willing to feel the intensity of the years of loneliness, lack of presence, lack of attuning, healing from shame.
  • Self-awareness skills -understanding how the nervous system works.
  • Self-compassion, and cognitive skill development
  • Triggers and distress tolerance - The brain gets reactivated, re-triggered so you have to be patient.
  • Boundaries and limit setting skills.

Trauma work is never completed without solid foundations of emotional/psychological and physical safety and self-regulation skills. Once we learn the skills, and understand trauma, then we get into trauma integration work.

Trauma integration: Inner-Child work

How much does it take your mind to integrate experiences and new information? It varies from person to person, and we adapt to your own pace. Once trauma integration work is completed, traditional treatments for anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses are discussed to manage our mental health if required.

Recovery continuum focussing on:

-Mental health management
-Other therapies
-Relationships - exploration of skills, style, goals/hopes

Long-term- stronger sense of self with healthy adaptive coping mechanisms and felt emotional safety.
